The Technical University of Munich (TUM) is one of Europe’s leading universities, known for excellence in research, teaching, and innovation. Founded in 1868, it focuses on engineering, natural and life sciences, medicine, and social sciences. TUM fosters entrepreneurship, global collaboration, and cutting-edge technology, consistently ranking among the world’s top universities.

The Chair of Architecture and Design (AND) at the Technical University of Munich explores the intersection of architecture, design, and regional material cultures. Focusing on bio-based materials, regenerative design, and bioregional practices, AND develops sustainable and place-based approaches that connect architecture with ecological and social systems.

The role in the project: TUM coordinates BIOARC and leads the work packages on product design and prototyping (WP3), community engagement and activation (WP5), demonstrators and pilot project (WP6), and sustainability activities (WP7), ensuring effective collaboration, scientific coherence, and project impact.
