BIOREGION OF HOPS
Hops are mainly grown in Germany, Czechia and Poland, with about 100,000 tons produced yearly and around 25,000 tons of residues.
BIOREGION OF SUNFLOWER
Sunflower cultivation in the EU produces around 10 million tons of seeds annually, resulting in about 2.5 million tons of hulls and 4.5 million tons of meal as by-products.
BIOREGION OF RICE
Rice is primarily cultivated in Italy and Spain, producing about 2 million tons annually and yielding approximately 500,000 tons of husks and bran.
BIOREGION OF WHEAT
Wheat is one of the primary cereals in Europe, with an annual production of around 140 million tons, generating approximately 80 million tons of wheat bran and other milling by-products.
BIOREGIONAL WEAVER
Through the role of the Bioregional Weaver, BIOARC will foster collective learning, enabling regions to exchange best practices across bioregions and to continuously refine their processes.
